A New Project

As you all know, last year I did a series of crafts called Diana's Summer Project (also known as {DSP})  This year I'm going to do something different. Instead of crafts, I going to do baking a cooking items. What I'm trying to say is I going to try to cook and bake all of the things that I pin on Pinterest.  So I will start out each blog post with the pictures and recipie that I will be making and then I will have the picture of my finished product. I am going to call this project "The Summer of Pinterest."  So I hope you will join me as I start the summer off!!

The first item:  Strawberry Surprise Biscuits.  The Recipe:  Gooseberry Patch Blog

Picture:

And here are my biscuits.  I made these for breakfast because there wasn't a lot of sugar in them. =)

By the way, this is my one hundredth blog post! =]

Summer is Here!!

I am off of school for the Summer!!  Yay!!  So Kelle and I have started to bake.
On Monday, Mom said that I could make dinner. I was so excited! I made corn pasta with ground beef and tomato sauce, and sauteed asparagus and Brussels sprouts. And for dessert I made coffee cake muffins with vanilla frosting.

Then today, Kelle and I made strawberry basil pizza and a veggie one.  And for dessert we recreated a Paris bakery shop dessert called Eclairs.  From the cookbook "Laduree: Sucre The Recipes"

Kelle hand whisked the milk into whipped cream and I made the custard filling.

Wash Day.

For Ma and other pioneer women, each day had its own proper chores. Ma used to say,
Wash on Monday,
Iron on Tuesday,
Mend on Wednesday,
Churn on Thursday,
Clean on Friday,
Bake on Saturday,
Rest on Sunday.

This quote always reminds me of those warm summer days in the backyard, when Mom read to Kelle and I the Little House on the Prairie series.
When I was little, I helped Mom hang up the laundry in the backyard on our clothesline. My little fingers handed Mom the wooden clothes pin as she hung up the lavender smelling shirts and socks.
Those were such happy memories, I do it wash and hang up my doll clothes and blankets.  It is a memory I will always cherish. Thank you Mom!! =]

The Lettuce and Radishes are growing rather nicely.
Dad opened the pool today. I can't wait till it is all clear to swim in!!

A Monday Night

Usually I don't do a lot of things on Monday, but this was different. My Dad and Mom went on a little trip to the grocery store, and I know that my Dad like dessert, so I made him Oatmeal Raisin Cookies.  I am glad my Dad likes dessert, because then I can bake it for him!! =]

Two of my favorite flowers just started to bloom!!

The Flower Garden

I have officially started my 2013 flower garden!! Yahoo!! This year I have decided to grow flowers. (My Dad said that it is good to have a rotation with what you grow.) So the types of flowers I am growing are as followed.
1. Pansies.
2.Sweet Peas
3. Forget-Me-Nots
4.Wild Flower Mix
5. Canterbury Bells

Here is my garden.

The only flowers that started growing is the Wild Flower mix.

May Day

This is my weather. The sunny mornings, the little green buds of all the veggies and flowers that are growing, the sound of the robins in the morning, and the actual thought of Summer coming along. "sigh"

It has been 80° for the past two days. Wow! And that mean it's time for me to start setting up my little house!!  This year, I decided to do something different.  I painted the inside walls of my house!!

 Before
After I painted.
 And then the decorations!!

Don't you just love blue mason jars? =]
